Okay, so you’ve seen a hydrofoil. Imagine a giant hydrofoil, the size of a cruise ship. Yeah. And then it’s got maybe 10, 20 foils either side, whatever.  That gets towed, and once they reach a certain speed, it raises up to the surface, and that will make a lot of sense because you will have less drag. (I don’t know where this is coming from). The engines on the Tugs, now they’re going to change. It’s not going to be diesel engines or gas turbines; they’re going to be basically nuclear powered if you like. That’s sort of, you know, it’s nuclear but it’s a new type of energy, so it’s got a lot of power.
And so this is an easier way to do it with hardly any carbon emissions. And all they do is they tow this thing and they get it up on its skids and it just carries on skimming across the top of the water or slightly below the water. That’s great. So all it’s really doing is moving the bulk of the ship out of the water so there’s no dragging. Now the hydrofoil, you’re right, it doesn’t skim across the top, it skims under the surface. So if you can imagine, let’s just say that the hydrofoils are 20 feet under as an example, but then it’s on legs which are maybe, let’s say, 100 feet.
So you can see how it’s going to work. And it can work in all sorts of different waves and so on. So all this tug has to do is take it to a destination, drop it off and pick up another one and go in a different direction.
Okay, lots of things changing there. Now, also getting things out of a shipping container, if you like, or a ship like this big, you’re gonna have new magnetic systems, the same as you have with cars. So it is going to be a matter of switching on the electricity so everything raises and it will just slide out and be directed to where it needs to go. Now there is another thing with direction. If you had, let’s just say you have a, let’s just say it is one container of objects and they are all on metal platforms. So all we’d have to do is press a button and they would lift up and then you could direct them to simply come out and using magnetic, the same as the railways you could say right that’s destination is plot number 113 over there and automatically it would move along to plot number whatever and stop.
So that’s how everything would be unloaded. Now imagine the loading sequence, it’s going to be the same, you’re going to load 10,000 containers and all you do is get them all to load in sequence, one after the other, they just go into this huge thing and it will load up in a matter of hours. All done by software, computerised mathematics and so on. Yeah, so you’ve got a lot less people, but you haven’t got any nasty emissions either. You’ve got much better time, it’s cheaper and more efficient and so on. So, there’s lots of new technology for you.
