A long lesson by Geoff and his Guide.
Japan will be very uniform and disciplined because that’s the way the Japanese are.
The Chinese are very much an oppressed society at the moment.
So there’s going to be a lot of change and upheaval when you get an oppressed society at least. The first thing they do is go out and they make changes. Because they’re able to.
They’re escaping from their oppression. They go out and they make changes. Where you get countries where, for instance let’s take Afghanistan and the Taliban. There you’ve got a very, if you like, primitive, way of life with the Taliban and what they believe in. They believe in that because that’s been handed down from one generation to the next. They’ve never stopped to think “Can we better this?” Can we improve this? Can we change this? It’s a matter of no, this is what we were taught and this is what we must do and this is how we must regain control of the people. Because they think it’s the right way. That’s what they’re supposed to do.
Now a few of the modern Taliban are having second thoughts about how the Taliban operates but they’re in a very comfortable position because they’re in control. They really don’t want to rock the boat. So they’re quite content to just stay and let things happen.
Now this will go on for a certain period. Normally what would happen is there would be an uprising. People are sort of fed up at the moment, there’s no money, stopping all the women being educated and having positions in business etc.
And normally what would happen is there would be an uprising and then there would be a bloody revolution. But what’s because it’s at this time it’s going to drag on for a bit longer and then a change will start and when the change does happen the women are going to see what’s happening around the rest of the world.
They’re going to realise that they can revolt, they can change but they’re going to do it in a much cleverer way. They’re not going to go and protest in the streets and shout and scream and dance. They’re going to be effective.
They’re going to challenge the Taliban on their own turf with their own ideas. Not so much debate them but stop things happening and just show the Taliban how far behind they are in their thinking. So you’re going to get a lot of very powerful women which come out of that from one exchange to the other.
India- you have a lot of very beautiful people. Indians have different reputations because they come from different areas, but it’s the same thing as you have in European areas, let’s just say white areas, where you get some very good societies and some very bad societies. In India there have the same. They have a population the size of China at the moment and they will suppress the change very quickly.
But what happens with India is that you get a lot of family values. A lot of families and you’ve got a lot of groups. And you do have is a caste system.
A caste system is what is wrong with India. And that is what needs to be changed. Now you’ve got an awful lot of religions as well.
They worship all these different idols, and that’s just been their way of life. And again it’s been handed down from one generation to the next for centuries, and it’s changed along the way. And they are quite happy to change. Where you get a religion in India let’s say it’s a following of a monastery.
And the monastery decides that we want to have flowers in the monastery. Everybody go out and collects flowers.
Suddenly that becomes sort of written in stone. Flowers come every day. That gets passed down from one generation to the next.
Simple things like that. They don’t mind change. They enjoy it. Because every change they see is an improvement. Their values of what they do, what they did, what happens to the dead when they pass away, that’s not going to change for a while. And even after the change happens, they’re still going to carry on with their idols, religions and so on.
Although there will be many less. Because the smaller ones will fade away because they didn’t particularly work or that’s the way they will be viewed. But there will be a lot less.
And a lot of your wealthier families will be integrated with Western society, Western values. And you’ll have cities growing up where they will look more like Western cities than Indian. There’s still a lot of space in India.
But the Indian way of life is to all live together in small shacks, buildings or squatter camps. Very cramped and very noisy and very next to each other. And that’s their way of life.
That’s what they enjoy. And that’s comforting for them. But there will be certain areas where they suddenly become big houses, gardens, courses, paddocks, that sort of thing.
And suddenly Indian people are seeing a different lifestyle. And it’s not just with Western society either. It’s with many other societies.
There will be a little bit of each. It’s the same as in a lot of countries. You have a China town, a Korea town, an Italian town and so on.
The same thing is going to happen in India. It hasn’t happened really to date because there’s been limited Nationalities there.
But that will happen. And that will change. It will be a very, very cosmopolitan country.
A very enjoyable country to come and visit. Because you’ve got the very friendly values and you’ve got this tremendous optimism in whatever they do. Even when they have very little money, very little belongings or assets, they have this optimism.
(Sharon) And that’s what makes people who they are. That’s very true. I’ve travelled to many countries and India was one of the countries I went to that was just India.
There’s no Westernization – the cruise ship goes into any port and they Westernize it and make it as normal as possible for the passengers. And then when we went into India, India was India. No Westernization whatsoever.
It’s India. That’s what I loved about it. It’s natural.
(Guide) Very nice. And of course there’s a place you know over there which you like, which is Vietnam. Which has a very nice community.
Now Vietnam has a very checkered history, but it’s becoming now a very tranquil place. It’s a beautiful place. The people themselves, they’ve been abused a way too much.
But there are very nice people there, very welcoming. And they will grow into a very nice, comfortable creative society. So worldwide if you look at the whole picture, what you’re going to have is the same as we have in everything.
Good, bad and in the middle. The very successful places, the very poor places and the average in the middle. Now in this case, when the change is finished in probably three generations, you’ll have the majority, let’s say 70-80% will be comfortably in the middle.
And then you get a small percentage at the top, the extremes and a small percentage at the bottom. Now if you look at the world at the moment, you’ll probably say 10% at the top, 50% at the bottom. And the rest in the middle.
It’s out of balance, it’s way out of balance from where it should be. I think we’ve covered everything we need to for this evening. I’ll leave you notes if there’s anybody else that wants to talk to you.
And as always, I must say goodnight.
(Sharon) Thank you so much. Thank you.
